Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill

The Shakers, who lived in the Kentucky Hill settlement between 1805 and 1923, were simple hardworking farmers, first or second generation descendants of the pioneers who settled the Kentucky River frontier in the eighteenth century.

Shaker Village of Pleasant Hill is the largest restored Shaker community, with 2700 acres of farmland and 33 restored 19th-century buildings. Sample traditional Shaker cuisine and hospitality at the Trustee's Inn or take home Shaker crafts, available in the gift shop. 25 miles southwest of Lexington.

Shaker Village, with 33 restored buildings and 2,800 acres of original land offers six visitor services: touring, dining, lodging, meeting facilities, shopping and riverboat excursions. Two village craft stores feature a wide selection of handmade items, tightly-sewn brooms from the craft demonstration, Shaker reproductions, furniture and many other fine Kentucky-made crafts.

hours from Memorial Day through Labor Day;

Located 25 miles southwest of Lexington and 7 miles east of Harrodsburg, Kentucky, on U.S. 68, Shaker Village is in the Eastern Time Zone.

The village is closed to the public December 24-25.
